Mass for anniversary of El Salvador peace accord

A special Mass will take place in London next Monday, 16 January, to mark the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Chapultepec Peace Accords that in 1992 brought an end to El Salvador's decade-long civil war. The Catholic Church and the United Nations were mediators to the Peace Treaty.

The Mass at St George's Cathedral, Southwark, organised by the Archbishop Romero Trust, is at 6.30pm and will be celebrated by Fr Michael Campbell Johnston SJ, who worked for many years in El Salvador both before and after the signing of the peace agreement.

All are welcome to attend. The liturgy will be followed by a reception in the Amigo Hall hosted by the Ambassador of El Salvador in London.
