The Celebrate Catholic Conference is coming to Wales for the first time during the weekend 7- 8 May 2011 at Corpus Christi Catholic High School in Cardiff. The first Mass on Saturday will be celebrated by Monsignor Robert Reardon, Administrator for the Archdiocese of Cardiff and the event has the support of The Right Reverend Tom Burns, Bishop of Menevia and The Right Reverend Edwin Regan, Bishop of Wrexham.

In his homily in Westminster Cathedral last September, the Holy Father said: "we need witnesses of the beauty of holiness, witnesses of the splendour of truth, witnesses of the joy and freedom born of a living relationship with Christ!.’" One way to respond to this exhortation is to gather together in a prayerful and safe environment to learn more about, and experience the joy of, Christ’s wonderful love for us.

Celebrate family weekends aim to do this in the context of praise and worship. During the weekend there will be Mass each day, excellent scriptural teaching in the Catholic tradition, family praise and worship, prayer and workshops, as well as opportunities for fellowship. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will also be available. There will be a Market place offering a wide range of books for all ages wherever people are on their faith journey.

Speakers include former President of International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Charles Whitehead and his wife Sue, together with Celebrate Regional Co-ordinator Jenny Baker, Canon Matthew Jones and renowned Mime Artist Steve Murray

This is the first occasion that a Celebrate Weekend has been held in Wales and we anticipate that it will receive wide support so participants should book early.
