London: festival to celebrate Christians in the Holy Land
Hope for the Holy Land - a weekend festival celebrating Christians in Palestine and Israel, will take place next month in central London, in the run-up to Christmas.
Organised by Fifth Gospel Retreats at Holy Apostles Church Hall Pimlico, there will be something for all the family, with speakers, dramas, films, a children's corner, music, arts and crafts, wine tastings and food.
Highlights of the weekend will include the first screening of extracts from a new film by Leila Sansour and a film by the Rev Garth Hewitt. Singer Reema Kelani will be performing some of her latest songs.
The aim of of the festival is to highlight the plight of the Palestinian Christian community in the Holy Land which a bishop recently described as 'in danger of extinction'. It will also offer a way of supporting them through the sale of food, wine and handicrafts. Entry is free. For more information visit: www.h4hl.org
