Comment Email Print
¬†There's a chance to retrace the steps of St Thomas More this Saturday (1 July) when the Guild of Our Lady of Ransome hold their annual pilgrimage. Gathering near the site of St Thomas' estate, at the church of Our Most Holy Redeemer and St Thomas More, Cheyne Row, Chelsea at 10am, there will be Mass with a sermon by Mgr Anthony Stark. The group will then go to the church where St Thomas served on the altar and then walk to the Thames for a trip down river to the Tower of London. After a visit to the cell where St Thomas was imprisoned for 15 months, prayers will be said at the place of his martyrdom. Benediction at the Church of the English Martyrs in Prescott Street will be followed by a ramble to places in the City associated with the saint's life. The pilgrimage will end at Lincoln's Inn Fields at 6.30pm. Admission to the river trip will be by ticket only: adults £8, children £5; obtainable from The Pilgrimage Secretary, Guild of Our Lady of Ransome, 31 Southdown Road, London SW20 8QJ.
