Major conference for Refugee Week

¬†A major gathering - Bonus Not Bogus: Welcoming the Unknown - takes place in Birmingham next Saturday, to mark the end of National Refugee Week. Organised by the National Catholic Refugee Forum the event starts at 11am in the Grimshaw Hall, St. Chad's Cathedral, Birmingham. Participants, mainly from parish communities, will be travelling from all over the country to join in discussions, share information, meet asylum seekers, and talk about projects in which they are involved. Lena Barrett, Assistant Director of Jesuit Refugee Service Europe, will speak on the growing trend towards closing our European borders against the flow of refugees and others who are in need of protection.
