Catholic evangelists coming to London's West End
While the Christmas rush builds up to fever pitch around Oxford Street, several Catholic groups are making preparations of a different kind elsewhere in London's West End. A major evangelical event will be taking place at St Patrick's, Soho Square, over the weekend of 14-16 December. Coordinated by Fr Alexander Sherbrooke and the Emmanuel Community - there will be representatives from Verbum Dei, Youth 2000, the Faith Movement and many others including several groups from France. The centre of the event will be in the church itself with perpetual adoration, a live crib with Mary and Joseph adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament above the empty crib, and an ongoing prayer vigil. At the same time, groups will go out to Soho in the evenings and Oxford Street and Leicester Square during the day to evangelize, give out leaflets, and invite people back to various events in the church including carol services, talks, prayer services, Mass and small groups. And lots more! If you are a musician, or would like to come and help for all or part of the weekend in any capacity contact: anna_mariewood@hotmail.com
