Launch of prayer group for Tony Blair
London-based Premier radio is launching a giant prayer support group for Prime Minister Tony Blair. They are asking Christians, regardless of their political persuasion, to pledge to put aside some 'Prime Minister's Prayer Time' on a daily basis throughout 2002. A spokesman said: " The Prime Minister has an unenviable role as a leader, decision-maker and diplomat on both the national and international political stages. The decisions he makes daily carry a huge weight of responsibility, and shape not only our present, but also our future. "In the Church, we generally see it as essential to support those in positions of responsibility with prayer support. Church leaders, musicians, sports-people and other high profile Christians are often supported directly by a small personal prayer group, who have made a commitment to pray daily for that individual and the work with which they are involved. "Believing that prayer genuinely changes things, members of the group will pray for every aspect of the Prime Minister's job."
