Michael Hill jailed for five years

Disgraced priest Michael Hill, was given a five year jail sentence today for sex assaults on boys. At the Old Bailey, Judge Christopher Moss said he could not imagine a more serious breach of trust which had resulted in "disgraceful and disgusting" crimes. The former Catholic chaplain to Gatwick Airport, Hill, 68, of Lingfield, Surrey, pleaded guilty on Monday to six charges of indecent assault which took place from 1968 - 1982. A further eight charges involving three victims, was ordered to remain on file. They related to complaints made by people who came forward after a previous court case. Hill was jailed for five years in 1997 for a string of sex offences against boys. He was freed on parole in 2000. The current charges came about following admissions he made at a sex offenders' clinic which he attended following his release from jail.
