A reception in honour of retiring CAFOD Director, Julian Filochowski, took place at Archbishop's House last Thursday evening. During the evening Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor gave a short speech in which he praised Filochowski's many achievements. He said: "I would like to express, on behalf of the Bishops, our thanks to Julian Filochowski, for his marvellous work as Director of CAFOD over these past twenty one years. "In his time, CAFOD has gained a well deserved worldwide reputation and has been deeply involved in the delivery of support and assistance in many of the poorest and most troubled parts of the world. "Julian has been tireless in his efforts and has shown enthusiasm, expertise and devotion to development around the world. He deserves the gratitude of the whole Catholic community here in England and Wales." Source: Archbishops House
