Resignation of Bishop Howard Tripp

¬†The Vatican has just issued the news that the Holy Father has accepted the resignation of the Rt Rev Howard George Tripp, Auxiliary Bishop of Southwark and titular bishop of Newport. The resignation was accepted in accordance with canons 401 ß 1 and 411 of the code of canon law. Bishop Howard was born in Croydon Surrey, in July 1927. He was ordained priest in 1953 and ordained Bishop on 30 January 1980. One of three Area Bishops in Southwark, his office has special responsibility for the Deaneries of Balham, Southwark Cathedral, Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Mortlake and Sutton.
