SOS Prayerline celebrates second birthday
Comment Email Print
¬†SOS Prayerline, set up to pray for people's needs over the phone, has recently celebrated its second anniversary ≠ and its 10,000th call. Based in a chapel in the tower of St Patrick's Church in London's Soho Square, the prayerline is manned by volunteers, who pray over the phone with anyone calling in with a need. Lines are open every evening from 7 to 11 o'clock. Since it started on 13th May 2002, SOS Prayerline has received calls from all over the UK and Ireland ≠ and even from the USA, Libya and Austria. The 10,000th call came shortly after the secondary anniversary, on the evening of Monday, 17th May. Volunteers pray in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, exposed in the chapel during the hours when the lines are open. Outside these hours, callers can leave prayer requests on an answering machine. The SOS Prayerline number is 020-7434 9211.
