Priest jailed for collecting internet porn

A Catholic priest who once taught at Downside Abbey, in Somerset, was jailed on Friday for downloading 12,000 pornographic images of children from the internet. At Bristol Crown Court, Judge John Foley sentenced Desmond O'Keefe, 39, to 18 months in prison. At an earlier hearing, O'Keefe pleaded guilty to 16 counts of making indecent photographs of children and two of making indecent pseudo-photographs of children. The dates of the offences date from 1997 to 2004.
