¬†The Maltese community in London is inviting everyone in the diocese to celebrate Malta Day with them this Saturday. The statue of the Bambina is already in Westminster Cathedral. It was brought there on the feast of the Birth of Our Lady. The weekend festivities begin with a fair at the Emmanuel Centre, 9-12 Marsham Street, on Saturday morning from 9.30am to 1.30pm, followed by Mass concelebrated by Maltese clergy in the Cathedral at 2.30pm. After Mass there will be a fanfare and fireworks in the Cathedral Piazza, and a procession with the statue of the Bambina through the surrounding streets, ending at the Sacred Heart Chapel of Ease in Horseferry Road. Organised by the Malta High Commission, the day will end with a Gala Dinner, Dance and Variety Show at the Galleon Suite of the Royal National Hotel in Bedford Way. Tickerts are £32 for adults and £16 for children. Admission is by ticket only. To book contact Malta House on 0207 292 4820 or e-mail
