Tsunami disaster appeal from Pattaya Orphanage Trust
Comment Email Print
¬†The Pattaya Orphanage Trust, founded by Redemptorist priest the late Fr Ray Brennan, which runs many projects for street children, people with disabilities and the elderly in Thailand has sent this urgent appeal. Dear Friends With the kind agreement of the Ambassador for Thailand, and for the convenience of those who would like to contribute to relief work specifically in Thailand, the Pattaya Orphanage Trust has established a special tsunami fund. This is the first time that POT has ever asked for money for a cause other than our children, but desperate times require desperate measures, and we are well placed to make this appeal, as one of the larger Thai-oriented charities. ALL contributions to this fund will be distributed to relief agencies in Thailand on the advice of the Royal Thai Embassy in London. If you wish to make a contribution, please go to and follow the instructions on screen. Please remember that if you are a UK taxpayer (n.b. you do not need to be a UK national, just a taxpayer!) we can reclaim the income tax paid on the money you give, so every £10 is worth £12.80 ≠ all you have to do is tick the box, it won't cost you an extra penny (but it will cost Gordon Brown, so smile while you tick!) Our friends and colleagues in Pattaya have all contributed to the relief fund in Thailand. 20 of them are in Phuket helping with the relief work. This is the best thing we can do to help them, so please give generously, make your friends and relatives give more generously (some of you are fundraisers, for heaven's sake!), and let's try to get to a total we can publish on the website without blushing with embarrassment. PLEASE forward this e-mail to anyone who you know who might wish to support the relief work in Thailand. Or even better, go to see them and stand over them while they give money. Anyone who has doubts about giving through our world-class secure server facility is welcome to post their cheque to POT at the address below ≠ please write 'tsunami appeal' on the back of your cheque! Have a Happy and blessed New Year ≠ and please take this opportunity to make it a bit less miserable for one of the victims of the tragedy in Thailand. Best wishes Andrew Scadding Chief Executive, Pattaya Orphanage Trust, 124 North End House, Fitzjames Ave London W14 0R
