London: short theology courses on contemporary issues

¬†A series of short evening courses begins next week at the Missionary Institute, dealing with contemporary issues. The courses are written from a practical real-world point of view and taught by priests who have experienced life in the missionary field. Current Issues in Pastoral Psychology, on Monday nights, with Fr Renzo Marcolongo, STB BSc MA, offers psychological insights into topics such as anxiety, guilt and sin, cultures in making of identities, disease and death, faith development, moral development, co-dependence and stress. Current issues in theology, with Fr Eamonn Mulcahy, BD STL, on Tuesday nights will address some of the major questions facing Christians today in the light of the Catechism and contemporary mainstream theology. Current Moral Dilemmas, with Fr Peter Jeffery STL STD, on Wednesday evenings will considering assisted conception, abortion, contraception, euthanasia, genetic testing, divorce and remarriage. Early Church History with Fr Larry Nemer BA L Miss, MA, PhD, on Thursdays, will provide an introduction to some of the major events and figures during the first seven centuries of Church history. The courses take place from 9 February - 29 April 7pm-9pm. They cost £75 per single course and £250 for four.
