Muslim leader to speak in Clifton Cathedral
At the end of the Requiem Mass in Clifton Cathedral on Sunday 10 July Mr Farooq Siddique from the Bristol Muslim Cultural Society will read the Joint Statement issued by Churches Together in Britain and Ireland and The Muslim Council of Britain. The Requiem Mass begins at 11.00 am and will be offered for all the victims of Thursday's attacks in London. Right Reverend Declan Lang, the Bishop of Clifton, will be the celebrant. All are welcome to the Mass Father Robert King, the Clifton Diocese Interfaith Officer said: "In a spirit of friendship and support we reiterate the joint statement from Churches Together in Britain and Ireland and The Muslim Council of Britain. May our efforts to work together for the good of the local community and growth in understanding of each others' faith not be hindered but strengthened as we strive to create a culture of respect for difference." Special prayers have been offered for those affected by the London attacks at both at the 7.30am and 12noon Mass today.
