Pax Christi message on Norman Kember and Peace Sunday
Pax Christi has sent the following message. There has been no news of Norman Kember and the others detained in Iraq since Thursday 8 December. The first deadline set by their captors. The second deadline, Saturday 10 December has come and gone without any word. We are liaising with the Fellowship of Reconciliation and with the family. It is important to keep the men in the public eye. We will be holding another vigil in London on Wednesday, 21 December (25th day of their captivity) between 6pm - 7pm at the North end of Trafalgar Square opposite St Martin in the Fields. If you can organise something at local level please do and let us know. We have made their plight, and that of all people detained, as a focus for the Pax Christi Christmas message on Vatican Radio - the text will be on our website too. Other things that you can do: - Pray every day at noon for the four men, their families and those who hold them - If you have ever met Norman - why not use this link to write to your local/church paper about their situation... urging others to pray for them to. This will keep the issue in the public eye - Make sure that special prayers are said for them on Christmas Day (if they have not been released!). 2. The World Peace Day message for 2006 is now on the Pax Christi website at: www.paxchristi.org.uk and can easily be downloaded. With every good wish for our last week of Advent!
