Nationwide appeal for adopters launched
Comment Email Print
¬†Up to 4,000 children across the UK are waiting for loving and permanent homes. At the start of the tenth National Adoption Week ≠ The Catholic Children's Society has launched a campaign appealing for adopters, for school aged children including those of black and dual heritage backgrounds. Jim Richards, Chief Executive Office of the Catholic Children's Society is keen to hear from people who may have considered adoption to phone and find out more. He says: "We know many people would like to offer a loving and permanent home to a child or children, but never take the next step. This may be because they think the process is too gruelling or because they're single or over 40 and think they'll automatically be turned down." "In reality, we need people from across the community to come forward. It is true that the process is rigorous, but we want to reassure people that we are here to help them through it. More than nine out of ten people who go through the assessment are approved to adopt". For further details please contact: Jim Richards, Chief Executive Officer, Catholic Children's Society (Westminster) tel 020 8969 5305 fax 020 8960 1464 email or see:
