Comment Email Print
¬†The Archbishop of Liverpool, the Most Reverend Patrick Kelly, will be leading a series of Friday evening talks throughout Lent, at St Anne's, Ormskirk. The talks will be based on 'They shall look on him whom they have pierced' from the Gospel of John ≠ which is also the theme of the Lenten Message of Pope Benedict XVI. The evenings start at 7.30pm and are open to all. The Archbishop's programme is as follows: Friday 23 February: 'Lent: the encounter with an event, a person: one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear.' Friday 2 March: 'Maundy Thursday: I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.' Friday 9 March: 'Good Friday: when you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he.' Friday 16 March : 'Holy Saturday: that he was buried; he descended into hell.' Friday 23 March: 'The Easter Vigil and Easter Day: dead to sin; and alive for God in Christ Jesus: a people with pierced hearts.' Source: Diocese of Liverpool
