London: International poets join Zimbabwe Vigil

 As part of a worldwide reading for Zimbabwe, organised by the International Literature Festival of Berlin, supporters of the weekly Zimbabwe Vigil outside the Zimbabwe Embassy in the Strand, will be reading poems by Chenjerai Hove, Chirikuré Chirikuré and Dumbudzo Marecharas, and Elinor Sisulu's introduction to "Gukurahundi in Zimbabwe: A Report on the Disturbances in Matabeleland and the Midlands 19801988" tomorrow. The readings will be interspersed with music and singing. For more information see: Zimbabwe peace vigil Tererai Karimakwenda of SW Radio Africa will be recording the event. The vigil celebrates its fifth anniversary on the 13th of October. Rain or shine, groups of Zimbabweans and their supporters meet outside the embassy at 428 the Strand, each week, to protest, sing and pray for justice in their country. Archbishop Pius Ncube of Bulawayo, and other church leaders have lent their support to the demonstration on many occasions.
