New
play from Martin O'Brien
A new drama from the author of Easter Tales, Martin O'Brien:
'167 hours' premiers shortly. There will be three London previews
before the show is performed at the OCT06 young adult event on
14 October in Birmingham.
The play focuses on the life of 25 year-old Nicola Devlin . She's a cradle Catholic who still goes to Mass for an hour every Sunday, and lives a whirlwind life for the other 167 hours of the week: everything is ticking along fine, thank you very much. Nicola has experienced tough times in the past: both of her parents died of cancer within ten months of each other. But that was three years ago; these days she burns the candle at both ends and lives life to full. However, things are about to change. Her brother Brian is the biggest slacker in the world and makes her life at home almost unbearable. Her boyfriend Rob wants her to take their relationship a bit more seriously than she has so far. Her best mate, Cassie, has some challenging news, and desperately needs her help. And to top it all off, her 77-year-old Nana is unexpectedly coming to live with her for a week. Nicola finds that she has to make some critical decisions about her actions, her life, and her faith.
