Catholic Youth Internship in Switzerland

Pope John XXIII English-Speaking Parish in Geneva, Switzerland is looking for a youth intern to start this September until the summer of 2007. The church has over 400 families, from over 50 countries and each Sunday has around 300 teenagers in church.

The Geneva area has an established youth leader network amongst the English-speaking churches, all of whom work together, and this is an opportunity for the Catholic church to get involved in youth work above the volunteer level. There is much going on, from Sunday school sessions, a couple of confirmation classes and a monthly Friday night youth group for those aged 11 - 14. Other than this there will be opportunities to join in with social events, weekends away and of course ski weekends.

Perks of the job include accommodation with a family, a full transport pass that allows unlimited free transport on every train, boat, tram and bus in Switzerland with discounts on foreign travel and ski lifts, training sessions available with a local youth agency and a salary that is dependent on previous experience.

Anyone who has had some experience with youth ministry in a Catholic church and who thinks this parish sounds like a place they would like to work is encouraged to apply to the job application in ICN Classified Ads or visit: www.Johnxxiii.ch
