Franciscan Sisters offer free music download

Beth developed her love of songwriting through Gershwin and Cole Porter, Joni Mitchell, the Beatles, Motown, Ella, and many more, releasing seven albums of her own.

In the autumn of 2004, Chapman released "Hymns", a collection of centuries-old Latin liturgical pieces, which has turned out to be her best selling album so far.

Beth said: "I was raised in a Catholic family and the beautiful melodies on CD Hymns, sung mostly in Latin, were the "hit parade" for all of us born before Vatican II. When I searched for a collection of my favourite Latin hymns I couldn't find one anywhere. That's when I decided it might be a good idea to go deep into the roots of my own spiritual beginnings"

The Franciscanized World website, which is aimed at young women discerning their call in life has a different song and image each month.

"We want to present our life as a viable option for them. Personal invitation is always best; however, we became convinced that real conversations can begin by using the language of images and music." said Sr Julie Ann Sheahan, OSF, Director of Vocations.

Established in 1869, the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity serve in Catholic health care, education and parish ministries in 11 US dioceses (Green Bay, Milwaukee, Phoenix, Tucson, Honolulu, Chicago, Marquette, Jackson, Omaha, Columbus and Steubenville).
