		<content type="html">Nick Batchelar, Service Education Director at CYPS (Children and Young Persons Services) visited St Brendan’s Sixth Form College on Thursday 16 May to award Muna Hassan the college’s annual ‘Good Samaritan Award’. The college ceremony was also attended by four previous principals of St Brendan’s; Dr Mervyn Davies, Peter Bradshaw, Derek Bodey and Ann Barrow. Muna is an 18 year old student from Easton who has been involved in Bristol based charity Integrate for over five years.</content>

		<content type="html">Last week, head teachers from Catholic sixth forms and colleges across England came together to discuss the changing landscape of education,  during a conference organised by St Mary’s University College, Twickenham. St Mary’s annual Catholic sixth form and colleges conference is organised as an opportunity for school leaders to come together and discuss current issues. Entitled ‘Responding to Change, Facing the Challenge’, the day gave delegates the opportunity to discuss their work  and consider how they might respond to the challenges with a Christ-centred view.</content>

The College has recently established weekly rosary devotions during May as well as an annual procession. It also coincided with the official blessing of the new outdoor Marian shine that has been dedicated to Our Lady of Good Counsel, ‘Mater Boni Consillii’. The school has now been shortlisted for the prestigious RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) London Awards 2013. This recognises the school as a cutting edge innovative new building in the capital and an enhancement to the local community.
