Clifton Cathedral chosen to hold national choir concert

Clifton Cathedral has been chosen to host a special concert - bringing together top choral musicians from around the country.

As hosts for this year's National Association of Choirs conference, the Bristol Male Voice Choir has organised a 'Choral Evening', to be given at Clifton Cathedral on Saturday 5 April.

Bristol Male Voice Choir will perform together with Cheddar Male Voice Choir, New Harmony Ladies Choir, Churchdown Male Voice Choir and the Silver Ring Choir from Bath.

The year's National Association of Choirs conference takes place at the Redwood Hotel and Country Club, from 4 to 6 April.

The National Association of Choirs was formed in 1920 by a small number of choirs, in order to give support and services to its members. The number of members has swelled over the years to a present figure of over 500.

Bristol Male Voice Choir's Mark Timms said: "The choirs, comprising both male and female groups, perform choral music in a wide variety of styles, and the conference brings together representatives from all over the country to meet and discuss the furtherance of choral music in a mood of enthusiasm and friendly comradeship."

The doors will open for the Cathedral concert on Saturday 5 April at 7.15 pm and tickets will be available for just £8.50.  Alternatively, tickets can be booked beforehand by phoning 0117 935 5597.  The performance begins at 7.45pm.
