More than 2,000 children from Westminster Diocese filed into Westminster Cathedral on Thursday for a special Jubilee celebration.
The youngsters, from schools throughout the diocese's central area, came with their teachers in two waves - one thousand in the morning and one thousand in the afternoon.
The service was introduced by Episcopal Vicar Monsignor Harry Turner, and led by singer-songwriter Monica Brown. Together with a clown called Bubbles, the children sang many songs and re-enacted the story of the treasure in the field in the one and a quarter hour event.
"It was a wonderful day," Tony Clark, director of Westminster's Religious Education and Catechesis department told ICN. "The children were just enthralled by Monica. She has a wonderful ability to relate to children, get them involved and really bring the Scriptures alive for them."
