Budapest hosts evangelisation conference

More than 2,000 people attended an evangelisation conference in Budapest this week.

This was the fifth year of the International Congress for the New Evangelisation, which was begun by of the cardinals of Vienna, Paris, Lisbon and Brussels, and is now supported by the Emmanuel Community.

During the week-long event, more than ninety parishes put on events including exhibitions the city's largest museums, prayer evenings, drama presentations "Salsa" dance sessions.

English and Welsh delegates included the Rt Rev Ambrose Griffiths, retired Bishop of Hexham and Newcastle, and members of Catholic Agency to Support Evangelisation (CASE).
