A beautiful new piece of music - 'In Paradisum'
- by the young Catholic composer Ben Robbins, sung by Fiona Wilson,
has been entered into Classic FM's on-line composer competition.
To hear the music, click on: http://www.classicfmcomposer.co.uk/fionaandben/
In order to win the competition, Fiona and Ben need people to
visit the site, listen to their piece and then rate the composition
on a scale on one to ten. It is a wonderful opportunity to promote
their work.
Ben is a former chorister at Westminster Cathedral. Fiona was a choral scholar at Trinity Cambridge.
Ben said: "Choral music has always played an important part in my life. It is through choral music that I met Fiona. Although most of my work is involved in the 'pop' world - we decided to dabble into the classical world, Fiona having been a choral scholar at Trinity Cambridge."
He added: "We have also a fine 'Nunc Dimitis' 'Ave Verum' and 'Salve Regina'. The latter was written for my late father, the wonderful actor Michael Robbins and performed for the first time by Rev Pat Browne - Cardinal Hume's private secretary, at my Father's memorial in 1993!"
The deadline for voting is tomorrow, 31 August.
